What Fans Can I Use For Slimmer Radiators
Can't tell if you're asking for a one push fan with thick radiator or a slim radiator with sandwich fans aka push pull. If you ask if a 240mm slim is better than a thick 120mm then yes. Radiator area > radiator thickness I currently have a 45mm thick 360 radiator from ek populated with 3 arctic p12 fans. I have enough space to add 3 15mm (p12) slim fans but was wondering if it is even worth it to have a push/pull setup with slim and regular fans.
Noctua a12x15 is probably the best overall slim fan. Artic p12 slim is a good cheap option but i don't like the build quality (it's flimsy and flexes easily). One out of the two p12 slim i got eventually leaked the oil/lubricant on the fan frame. Was looking at the arctic liquid freezer ii 240mm aio cooler and its dimensions are 38mm for the radiator and 25mm for the fans making it 63mm in total. I certainly would not use the original screws, they are likely 30mm long and you could very well be puncturing the rad core by using them with slim fans. If your fans are 15mm thick, then get 20mm screws. Basically there is ~46mm thickness available for the radiator and fans, and i'm wondering what is better: A slim 20mm radiator + normal 25mm thick fans, or a 30mm thick radiator and slim 15mm fans? Has anybody done any testing on this? Considering how poor low profile fans perform on radiators, how much harder they are to find compared to 25mm fans and the small variety available in the market, the best choice would be to. Slim fans will work up to a point on a thin rad like a gts or tx (i have fn123s on a ls and they work fairly well), but any thicker than that and you're best off stepping the rad down and using full fat fans. Using fans on both sides of the radiator is fine but if your radiator is cooling as well as it possibly can with fans on only one side, doubling your fan count is only going to cost more money and make the whole setup louder. Fans are the answer for increased efficiency and a simple box fan can make a huge difference in room temperature. I find that blowing the fan into the radiator, such that air also makes contact with the wall behind, is more effective that sucking air through it. A thicker radiator is typically a much better choice than thinner, more surface area allows for the heat to transfer to the fins and with a typical decent set of fans (decent, not top end).

If the radiator is thick and you aim to run a fan at low speed, make sure the radiator has a low fin density count to prevent restricted airflow. What are the best fans that are thinner than 120x25mm that i could slap on my hydro h75 to better fit in my thermaltake v3 black? With the corsair fans that it comes with i currently can only run it in a pull configuration with the fan outside of. I am building a water cooling system for a small form factor case, and i am planning to use some slim fans to cool the radiators. Is it safe to use the screws for the normal fans? For example, a 480mm radiator can hold four 120mm fans, while a 280mm radiator can have two 140mm fans attached. You will need to check what fan mounts your case has and go from there. I can't decide between these 2 360mm rads:
